Frightened Mom Dog Tries To Rescue Her Puppy From Humans At Kill Shelter

A mother’s love is definitely the most powerful thing ever!
A mother’s love has always been the most powerful love in the world. It is the only love that is absolutely unconditional and selfless. It is the purest form of love there can be. And Sadie, the dog proves just that with her love for her baby, Benzy. They were abandoned together at a kill shelter, where they sat in a corner, quivering. A kind staff noticed this and took a short video to share on social media, in hopes of finding them a foster home.

Their names were listed to be euthanized and you could tell by the look in their eyes that they had a hunch of what was going to happen.

Wanting desperately to find a foster home for the pair, the shelter staff shared an overwhelming video about them. And it almost worked. The New York-based rescue group named Rescue Dogs Rock shared their video and 1,500 people shared it after that. However, their future was still looking dark because no one had inquired for them.

Rescue Dogs Rock wrote on their Facebook page, “Momma Sadie doesn’t know what to do, she doesn’t know how to help her baby, Benzy. She knows they are both in danger at the kill shelter they were abandoned in and baby Benzy is so petrified she hides behind her Momma, hoping she can protect her like all Moms try to do for their children.”

Finally, a woman named Dava Hammack saw the video and was left heartbroken. She had four rescue dogs of her own and lived 9 hours away from where Sadie and Benzy were. However, she couldn’t just let them go. So, she set off immediately to rescue the mama and her daughter.

“I was like, ‘I’ll do what I have to do to help them. I’ll drive nine hours, whatever needs to be done,’” Hammack said. “And they were like, ‘Are you sure?’”

The pair was then transported to Fort Worth, Texas where Hammack lived. They did take a while to get used to the new environment, but they are safe and sound now, and definitely not scared for their lives anymore. They both are being showered with all the love and affection they need and deserve.

We hope they find their forever homes soon!
